  • Old Idaho Penitentiary: One of Boise’s top attractions, this sandstone-built prison operated from 1872 until 1973 and offers tours daily. Visitors can tour the cell blocks, view the solitary confinement quarters, and see the gallows, learning about prison history.
  • Shoshone Falls: Higher than Niagara Falls, these 212-foot falls pour below canyon walls into a picturesque pool below. Recreational opportunities include swimming, boating, picnicking, and hiking to the scenic overlook.
  • Hells Canyon: On the border of Idaho and Oregon, the Snake River flows through America’s deepest river gorge—nearly 8,000 feet deep. The area is mostly wilderness, but there are opportunities for jet boat tours, whitewater rafting and kayaking, hiking, and fishing.
  • Silverwood Theme Park: The Northwest’s largest amusement park, Silverwood offers seven roller coasters, along with 58 other rides and a water park called Boulder Beach.

  • Boise Centre: Located in the heart of downtown Boise, this 50,000 square-foot facility offers flexible space for conferences and meetings. A 36,000 square-foot addition will be completed in 2016, adding a new ballroom.
  • University of Idaho Support Services: The University of Idaho in Moscow can host the largest meetings and conventions in the state, with capacity of up to 16,000 guests. During summer months, participants can stay overnight on campus.
